Transpersonal Counselling for individuals
I imagine you are seeking counselling because you need someone to talk with about what’s troubling you. Whatever your reasons for considering counselling, I imagine you’ve had enough of suffering and would like some help. I know it can feel challenging to take the first step.
Many people reach out for counselling to help manage transitions from one life stage to another, for help with getting through difficult situations, for help with distressing states such as anxiety, frustration, confusion and hopelessness. Counselling is helpful if you are experiencing an emotional problem that you cannot resolve on your own. Therapy helps you to become aware of long term patterns of distress, and find ways of moving forward.
I am qualified and experienced in supporting adults and young people aged over 18 to overcome the stress and trauma which can arise from life’s challenges and hardships.
I can support you to talk through what is going on for you, in a safe and confidential space.
I can help you to gently explore and root out possible causes of distress in your current situation and background.
I can help you to gain more understanding of your feelings and thoughts, to make new choices that serve you. I can help you to begin the process of change.
Some of the issues I can help you with:
Abuse, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Personal development, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Sex-related issues, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women’s issues, Work related issues.
The first step is for you to contact me by email or phone. We will have a brief chat about what you are seeking from counselling, and we will arrange an initial assessment session at a time that works for both of us, and as soon as possible.
In the initial assessment session you can tell me what brings you to counselling. You can see how comfortable you feel with me, and ask me any questions you may have about therapy. It’s important that you feel you can trust me and want to work with me. I will be asking more questions than I would usually in order to find out about you and what is affecting you.
By the end of this initial assessment session, you may have a good sense of whether you want to work with me, or you might want some time to think it over. If we agree to work together, we will continue the therapy once a week, at the same time each week. You may choose to commit to 6 sessions and see if that is enough for you. You may choose to start open-ended, for the short, medium, or long term.
